As reported by Buzzfeed, the new teaser of the show has confirmed Loki’s gender fluidity, which has been documented in the show, LITERALLY. In the teaser video, which was posted by Marvel Studios on social media platforms on 6 June, a document about Loki’s details shows “FLUID” written in the “Sex” section, which only a person with sharp eye would have noticed.

The creator of the series also addressed the matter. Kate Herron, the director of Disney Plus Loki told in an interview, “I would say that details are marked in but it is something acknowledged.”

Kate added, “He (Loki) is gender fluid in the Norse mythology and the comics and it felt like an important thing to, as you say, make sure it’s canon.”

On the other hand, the actor who has played the role of Loki for a decade and is the lead character of the show, Tom Hiddleston says that he always knew about Loki’s gender. Tom recently told in an interview “It’s always been there in the comics for some time and in the history of the character for hundreds, if not thousands of years

Tom also said, “Breadth and range of identity contained in the character has been emphasized and is something I was always aware of when I was first cast 10 years ago…We were very aware, this is something we felt responsible for.”

Besides, according to the show’s writer Michael Waldron, this revelation was long coming. Waldron told Inverse, “I know how many people identify with Loki in particular and are eager for their representation, especially with this character.”

Being proud of bringing the representation of gender fluidity to the MCU, Waldron said that it was, “so important to Kate, that we did that justice. Everyone will have to watch and see.”

There are no confirmation regarding what role would Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman play in the series. There are speculations that Emilia might portray the Skrull empress Veranke, who is the mastermind of the invasion. Nonetheless, the series is certainly going to be interesting with two queens together.

The new Marvel series, “Secret Invasion” will follow the events of Captain Marvel. Moreover, it is reported that the series will feature Nick Fury and Skrull Talos. Certainly, it is going to be big as Disney described the two coming together as “the “biggest crossover comic event in the past 20 years besides Civil War.”

The series is about a group of shape shifting aliens, who have been infiltrating Earth for many years. The role of the villain is confirmed to be played by Kingsley Ben-Adir. Other than that, the series has Kyle Bradstreet as the screenwriter and executive producer. It is being produced by Kevin Feige’s unit, who have produced all the other MCU titles.

According to Variety, “Secret Invasion was announced as a development property last year, one of Marvel’s many planned titles for Disney Plus. Jackson is reprising his MCU role of Nick Fury, while Mendelsohn will play the Skrull Talos as he did in the feature film “Captain Marvel.”

Regarding the release day, there is no announcement or confirmation so far. The series is still in production, but no premiere date has been set.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Release Date

Initially set to air on Disney’s streaming service Disney+ earlier in August this year, the studio had to postpone the release date to sometime in 2021. The reason for this being that filming for the show had come to an abrupt stop due to the onset of COVID-19 and the lockdowns.

If we’re lucky, the cast and crew will manage to wrap filming, which resumed in July, in the upcoming months, and treat us to an early-to-mid 2021 release, but at this point, that’s just wishful thinking.

Plot

After Steve decides to head back in time and live a regular life post the events of Endgame, he entrusts his buddy Sam with his iconic shield. The Falcon and The Winter soldier will take place in a world still reeling from the effects of the Snap, a world without Iron Man or Captain America.

It is now all up to Sam and Bucky to fill the void left by Steve, although it doesn’t seem like the Falcon will be taking the mantle of Captain America anytime soon since, as has been confirmed, the show will initially have Wyatt Russel’s US Agent taking up that role. It seems that Sam still has a lot of work to do before the people accept HIM as the next Cap.

The show will also give us a new take on Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes character, who in the movies has more or less always been a fugitive and anti-hero. We might finally get a more in-depth look into his name as he works side by side with the good guys.

Here’s what we know about the matter so far.

Loki Release Date

Loki was initially set to release sometime in the spring of 2021, along with WandaVision. It so happens that WandaVision got bumped earlier to December of 2020 and Loki, who’s filming began in January 2020, might see a delay due to the pandemic causing production and filming to stop. The only hope we have of Loki releasing in 2021 is if the studio manages to resume production sometime soon, else we might possibly even have to wait till 2022.

The Plot

Fans may be wondering how Loki managed to get his own show since he clearly died in Infinity War. Will the show be a prequel? Apparently not. 

In Endgame, when our heroes had traveled back in time to retrieve the Infinity Stones, a blunder caused by Stark gives the 2012 Loki a chance to escape with the Tesseract, and in the process creating a timeline that previously did not exist.

It seems the show will be set in this timeline where Loki was never captured after the War in New York. Not much has been revealed about the actual plot of Loki. But many have theorized based on leaked images and trailer stills that Loki might be captured by some sort of time police called the Time Variance Authority (TVA). There is also the popular theory that the events of Loki and WandaVision may both tie up and lead to the plot of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, another MCU film that will soon release.

WandaVision Release Date

Initially set to release sometime later in 2021, it was recently announced that WandaVision would in fact release in December this year, which is odd considering that during this pandemic all the shows we’ve covered so far have been postponed and not the other way around. We are not complaining, however, because waiting for these shows isn’t as easy as it seems, so the earlier they come, the better.

The Plot

Not much has been revealed about WandaVision’s plot, but from what fans have theorized so far it seems that the show will most likely be set in an alternate reality in which Wanda, unable to cope with Vision’s death, uses her powers to create an imaginary world in which she along with Vision lead a happy life together as a couple. From the trailer, it seems that the show will be shot like a 50’s sitcom.

All that has confirmed is that the events of WandaVision, probably along with those of Loki, will somehow tie up and lead to the beginning of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, another promising upcoming MCU movie based on the Sorcerer Supreme.

It is not the end of the road for Natasha though, not yet at least, since she has finally gotten her very own solo movie – Marvel’s Black Widow.

Before you get all excited let us remind you that Agent Romanoff is still pretty dead, and that the Black Widow movie about to release is actually a prequel, and the events of the movie take place sometime in between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. It is safe to say that the upcoming movie might as well be the last time we get to see Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of Soviet Spy Natasha Romanoff one last time.

Rumors have it that we might also be treated to a cameo from Robert Downey Jr. in the movie, and that is reason alone to go and watch it. But that doesn’t mean we should undermine Black Widow herself, she has been a prominent character throughout the first three MCU stages and has played a key part in developing the build-up to the Avengers movies. If that’s not enough, Black Widow is an MCU movie, which is seldom not absolutely awesome!

Black Widow Release Date

The release date for Black Widow has been postponed to 28 October in the UK and November 2020 in the rest of the theatres across the globe. Unlike other movies and shows that got postponed because of a halt in production, the only reason for Black Widow being postponed was that people would not be able to go watch it in theatres during the pandemic, and so the fixed release date was simply postponed to a date which wouldn’t have such complications.

Black Widow Plot

Black Widow will kickstart MCU’s phase 4 and will give us a backdrop into the life of Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, who was a part of the original six Avengers.

The movie is set in the MCU timeline somewhere between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity war.

Although a prequel, the movie might give birth to the storylines of phase 4. In the trailer, we see Natasha return to Russia in an attempt to confront her past. We might get to see flashbacks of Natasha back when she was a Russian super spy.

The protagonist in this film is the Taskmaster, a notorious Marvel villain famous for being able to imitate the skills of his opponents in battle. He seems to be in charge of the black widow training academy which had taught Nat the tricks of her trade, and which might possibly be her next target. The movie will also feature new characters such as the Red Guardian, who in the comics is Russia’s attempt at recreating a Captain America, and might also feature returning characters such as Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark.

Fans are particularly excited to see Stark and Nat together on the big screen again since both characters died in Endgame and this might possibly be the last time we may see the two on the big screen again.

Sony had supposedly started working on Into the Spider-Verse 2 just as soon as they released the first movie. The sequel has been officially announced to release on 8 April 2022.

Jessica Jones was canceled before the release of season 3 in February 2019, becoming the last show out of the five Netflix-Marvel shows to get compensated. One possible reason for this is the release of Marvel parent company Disney’s Disney+ streaming service, which Netflix saw as a potential competitor and decided to cut ties with Marvel, despite their successful run together.

In any case, season 3 will be the last we ever get. The third season tied all loose ends and gave our hero a deserving farewell, seeing as it would be her last time on screen.

Black Widow Release Date

The release date for Black Widow has been postponed to 28 October in the UK and November 2020 in the rest of the theatres across the globe. Unlike other movies and shows that got postponed because of a halt in production, the only reason for Black Widow being postponed was that people would not be able to go watch it in theatres during the pandemic, and so the fixed release date was simply postponed to a date which wouldn’t have such complications.

Black Widow Plot

Black Widow will kickstart MCU’s phase 4 and will give us a backdrop into the life of Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, who was a part of the original six Avengers.

The movie is set in the MCU timeline somewhere between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity war.

Although a prequel, the movie might give birth to the storylines of phase 4. In the trailer, we see Natasha return to Russia in an attempt to confront her past. We might get to see flashbacks of Natasha back when she was a Russian super spy.

The protagonist in this film is the Taskmaster, a notorious Marvel villain famous for being able to imitate the skills of his opponents in battle. He seems to be in charge of the black widow training academy which had taught Nat the tricks of her trade, and which might possibly be her next target. The movie will also feature new characters such as the Red Guardian, who in the comics is Russia’s attempt at recreating a Captain America, and might also feature returning characters such as Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark.

Fans are particularly excited to see Stark and Nat together on the big screen again since both characters died in Endgame and this might possibly be the last time we may see the two on the big screen again.

Marvel Studios has recently made a tweet and said that Winter Soldier is one of the essential characters in the MCU. It is time for Winter Soldier to finally stop fighting and get a different perspective in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to the recent revelation, the filming of the series will take place in Atlanta. According to the sources, this is the same location where the next-gen Marvel Cinematic Universe films would also be filmed. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier would feature Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in the lead role. Sources also suggest that Baron Zemo would also be a part of the project.

When will these series come into being?

Most of the series will make their first debut in the year 2020. On the other hand, Jeremy Renner starring Hawkeye, would premiere in the year 2021. One of the essential parts of the Hawkeye series is that it would feature Kate Bishop, Barton’s daughter as the next Hawkeye.

Both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Disney stole the show of the 2019 edition of San Diego Comic-Con. Disney+ is yet to confirm the release date of the series.

During the early stage of Marvel Studios, much before the MCU came into being, Marvel had Wesley Snipes as the Daywalker. It is worthy to note that whatever Marvel did manage to accomplish over time began from the first Blade flick.

The Blade Trilogy was the stepping stone for Marvel as Blade is a B-lister superhero. A B-lister superhero is not cut out to be famous like Iron-Man or Batman, but they are still famous. Marvel is finally trying to shape the future of the MCU with Phase 4, and that is why there will be some new superheroes.

Will Wesley Snipes give the mantle to Mahershala Ali to star in Blade?

It is unclear whether there will be a cameo for the original Blade. On the other hand, Kevin Feige also didn’t reveal what would happen in the Blade movie. By the look of it, Marvel finally moved on from Wesley Snipes as the Daywalker and chose Ali as Blade.
