Ragnarok

Ragnarok Season 2 is Underway, Here’s What we Know About it so Far

Ragnarok Season 2 had verified back when the creators had premiered the first season in January earlier this year.

Ragnarok is a Norwegian show on Netflix, the second of its kind. A fantasy-drama, it follows the story of Magne, who lives in the fictional Norwegian town of Edda. Magne discovers he is the embodiment of the Norse God of Thunder, Thor, and must use his powers to protect his village, and also the planet, from those who wish harm upon it.

Season 1 had widely acclaimed by fans and secured an IMDB rating of 7.5 out of 10. Here’s all we know about the upcoming Ragnarok Season 2.

Ragnarok Season 2 Release Date

Netflix has not yet given an official release date for Ragnarok Season 2. Expect it to be sometime in mid-to-late 2021 considering the current state of the world. As for now, we don’t even know when production will begin or whether it has already begun, in any case, the new season won’t be coming earlier than at least April of 2021.

Expect the trailer for season 2 to arrive about a month or so before the season releases.

The Plot

The antagonists of the show are the Jutul family, or as is known in Norse Mythology, the Jotunn. One might recognize these beings as the antagonists from the Thor movies made by Marvel. The Jotunn are humongous ice giants who in Norse Mythology are the Biblical equivalents of demons.

In the series, the Jutul family is the fifth-richest family in Norway, and own several factories which are causing climate change and industrial pollution in the small town of Edda. It is up to Magne to rise to them and save his village.

After having initially defeated the leader of the Jutul family in season 1, Magne will most likely encounter new villains, who are also most likely inspired by Norse Mythology.
