Halloween special, a horror-comedy movie which hit back in 1993, Hocus Pocus, returning with a sequel after a long time waiting. The iconic witches are coming back with Hocus Pocus 2 very soon. After receiving lots of favor and fame, the directors and Walt Disney decided to create a sequel. Read further for what the writer of the movie says.

In an interview, when the writer of the movie, Mick Garry has been asked for Hocus pocus 2, he told, ” I’m excited about it, but I really think the main reason the movie worked was the Sanderson Sisters, those actresses in those roles, those performances, that I think is the key to that movie’s long life.

He further added, “And I think they are the reasons that it’s still around since it came out in 1993. And I would love to see them return in it. I think that’s the plan, but I don’t know. I have heard that that is what’s happening, and I believe it’s going to be for Disney+, but I’m not involved in it, which is fine. You don’t always want to revisit all of the touchstones of your past.”

Hocus Pocus 2 Release date

Nothing is mentioned regarding the release date of the movie. According to resources, we came to know that filming of the sequel was scheduled to start. But due to on-going COVID-19 pandemic shit, the production was packed up. That’s why producers are facing delays in announcing the official date of release. We can assume the release in late 2020 or in early 2021.

There is no official trailer announced by Walt Disney+. It is assumed that unless the production of the film not made, creators will not be dropping the trailer soon. Till then fans have to the official trailer.

Plot

The film, set in Salem, Massachusetts is following the story of three witches who were accidentally resurrected by a young boy. At the time of its release, the film did not do well at the box office. However, it still kept airing annually on Disney Channel and Freeform. This allowed the film to be rediscovered by the audience which spiked its sales. Now, every Halloween Season, many sit and watch this film as a tradition. Slowly, it has become a cult favorite Halloween movie.
